Metal Beds

Metal does two things fabric cannot. It reflects light rather than absorbing it, which lifts a darker bedroom noticeably. And it allows a much slimmer profile, so the bed takes up less visual space in a room that is already fairly full.

It is also the simplest thing here to order. No fabric, no colour, no button or beading decision — which some people find a relief after looking at velvet swatches for a week.

Practically, an open metal frame is easier to clean under than a solid upholstered base, and it will not mark or shade the way a pile fabric does. What you give up is somewhere soft to lean back against, so if you read in bed, consider an upholstered frame or plan on a good pillow.
